From pictures the KL/W steering wheels look thicker and maybe smaller in diameter. Is this the case in person?

And, will a KL/W Xi steering wheel with audio controls fit onto a KJ (assuming I use the clock spring etc)

No they are the same, the GTVi wheel is simply a sports wheel with black leather. Otherwise identical.

The audio controls are the same from KE xi to KW xi

You need the clock spring, shroud, bracket for the remote and the wiring to the HU

Shroud = The outer plastic surrounding the steering column. The GTVi sports wheel is thicker and contoured at places.

The shroud that comes on the Verada with the audio remote have a "cut out" to accommodate the remote, but they are the same shape as the standard non audio remote shroud.
