The last year or so I've noticed a slight smell coming from the front of the car. The rocker covers have been done and i thought that would clear it up but the smell is still there. I've checked with a torch for any oil spots but can't find any. To the best of my ability and using a sophisticated tool (my nose) it would appear to be coming from the radiator cap. The hose coming off near the radiator cap is warm to touch even 2 hours after car turned off. It smells likr rubber but no hose is touching the engine. Any ideas?

The hose smells like rubber because it is made of rubber.
The top radiator hose can stay warm for a very long time. 8 to 10 hours, easily.
Oil from a leak can stay around for a long time after the leak has been fixed. Give it a year or so to dissipate. Then again you might just be smelling oil fumes.
Try not to worry about your car so much.

Not worried so much as curious, other cars I've had have not had this smell.
