Interesting central locking problem. Verada's doing the machine-gun lock/unlock thing again, but only in the morning (only when it's cold???). You unlock it and it rapidly cycles lock/unlock. Hop in, push the button down, everything locks, all good. When I come back to the car in the afternoon, no problems (until next morning). Had similar problem 12 months ago and I changed the CL relay, problem solved. Changed it again this morning with another spare and still did it.
I'm assuming it's now the actuator in the door, how is this removed? Looked at the wreckers and there are a few there. Seems to be a 10mm-head bolt behind the door trim but couldn't see anything else holding it in. (I don't see well anyway) Is it also held in by the lock screws (TORX) as well? Or is there a hidden bolt somewhere.
Seems to be a history of TS/KS locking issues on this forum.

On the 2nd gens, the TORX lock screws need to come out. There annoying to change. It only takes an hour though. The door handle even needs to come out. Follow the rods along, and look for plastic. The clips come out sideways, then the rods pull out. Its very fiddly to take out.
Undoing the bolt to the outside door handle is the worst. Ratchets and spanners barely fit at all. Its right up in there, and a rod gets in the way.
There's a lot holding them in. The rod to the door handle, inside and out, needs to come off. Take the inside one off first to see how the other rods come out. Pull off as many as you can.
I'd say it's possible the switch inside is shorting. Give the door a little whack on the bottom right and if its the switch it should lock/unlock.

Like a lot of things on this car, the problem has gone away for now.
I reckon you know how much of a heap your car is by how long the list of instructions is when you loan it to someone.
"If the central locking plays up, remove fuse #12" etc.

Hi Dave. I don't know this system personally so to speak.
But on other central locking units, the actuator is bolted to the door through slotted screw holes.
It could be, because it's doing it in the morning, it might just be a case of adjusting the position of the actuator in the slots.
From memory, theres a micro switch in the unit and if the rod dosen't travel full length, the motor will reverse direction.
Worth a try and only need to remove door trim.

After years of frustration with machine-gun central locking -especially when it's cold outside& don't ask me why... - (changing relays would fix it for a while, or not at all) I bit the bullet and took my tools (including Torx T30) to the wreckers to work out how the central locking unit comes out of the door. Basically, its mounted off the bottom of the door lock and comes out with it.
As van0014 says above, remove door trim, 3 torx on the lock, one 10mm head behind the door trim below the lock. Undo the doorhandle bolts (pull handle to "open" position to move link clear of the rear bolt head) and unclip latch and lock rods from the door handle, noting which is on the outside of which. Unscrew the interior lock knob and unclip the plug on the central locking unit below the lock. Move lock/locking unit clear and free the 4 rods. Comes out quite easily. Wife describes it as an "alien octopus" sitting on the rock next to the driveway.
Replacement unit $25 came from a car with 100,000km less than mine, so the lock is probably better anyway.
Replaced ANOTHER broken mirror ($35) at the same time. Time all-up including fitting the mirror was 1 hour.
Here's hoping.
BTW, anyone got a red Verada/Magna SE wagon tailgate trim and Verada KS rear badge?
