Hey, probably another pointless post on my behalf..

I cleaned out my throttle body, all good and tweaked my ISC. I went for a drive and all was good. Let it sit for a while and when I turned the car back on, my idle was low again. Just wondering if I will need to do an ECU reset?

On another note, my fuel gauge doesn't work, once I get to half a tank it sits on empty. My fuel light comes on, so it's not a huge issue. But just wondering if its a simple fix?

Thanks guys!

Float lever in the tank probably needs to be bent a little to get contact again when the tank gets lower.
Not hard to do just got to pull it out of the tank and experiment with it. Done mine a couple of times over the years.
Other than that you can buy a new unit or used from the wreckers but as it is working partly the above is all it would need i'm sure. Vee

+1 to check float lever, probably not making contact. This happened to me, I got a replacement fuel pump and sender unit, problem fixed.

Low idle.. try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and idling it, may not make any difference. But if it's only doing it on hot, could check/adjust hot idle screw

Thanks, guys!
Thought it would be a pretty simple fix as it does work, just not all the way to empty.

Also, thanks for the info regarding the idle, will give that a try! :)

Resetting the ECU is easy. Disconnect the battery for 10 seconds. I'm not sure if it will help. It also kills your radio settings :(

Thanks, I've adjusted my idle, but it just resets. So as it holds memory to my previous idle, that's why I was asking about ECU reset. Are the radio settings easy to set back up?

How have you adjusted the idle? The ISC is supposed to do that, under ECU control. If the idle is dipping too low, you need to run the engine for a while to give the ECU time to get the idle right. If it never comes right you probably need a new ISC.

Radio: check your owner's handbook, hope you have the code.

Just turned the screw to adjust the idle.
Was running well then went back to the old idle, so maybe didn't leave it running long enough? How long should it be left to adjust?

Got all the original books, so should be all good on the code. How does that go with an aftermarket head unit?

That screw is NOT an idle adjuster, idler speed is set by the ECU. If the ISC is broken, the idle will never be right.
(Do a search on how to check if the ISC is working or not.)

Aftermarket head unit doesn't use a code. It should have its own handbook to show you how to set the stations etc. If you don't have that, just experiment with it.

Awesome, didn't think the aftermarket used the code, so all good there. Just thought I'd check.

Also, adjusted the screw and took it for a 15 minute drive, seemed to work let the car sit for a bit and idle is still good. If it changes again, will replace the ISC.

You should NEVER need to adjust that screw
Its tuned from factory. That screw is for the throttle plate stops to close the throttle and the air is then bypassed through the isc to be controlled by the ecu.

Eh, what's done is done. Worst thing that will happen is ill break it and ill be driving my other car.. No big deal.

There are 2 screws on the TS V6 throttle body. One on the back, near the throttle lever, and a larger one on the front. Neither really need touching unless the ISC is doing the wrong thing, or the throttle plate is binding on the bore of the throttle body due to a build up of crud.

Cleaned the throttle body the other day, will look into a new ISC.
