Hey Guys,

I'm looking at buying a Platinum Edition 380, and have been reading that Reverse Sensors were part of the additional extras included?? Some of the pictures l have been looking at have the sensors really easy to see, and in others they are invisible or not there at all.

Can anyone please confirm if they are actually standard fitment to the Platinum or not?

I guess secondly, how well do they work? Where is the reversing distance showin in the car (or is it auditory only)?

Thanks in advance.

The factory parking sensors are pretty visible, so if you cant see them in photos, they won't be present.

They're only auditory but they work a treat.

Disconnected mine. Everytime the weather got hot they would go off as I selected reverse, quiet in the winter

If you can't find a 380 with reversing sensors, just get one without and then get one aftermarket. Plenty of them on eBay. Just wire them up yourself and then get a panel beater to paint match the sensors and fit them onto the rear bumper. That is what I did with my Verada. Unit cost $40 delivered and fitting and painting by panel beater was $120. They work by beeping with progressively shorter gaps between beeps until it remains constant (which means you have approximately 30cm left). There are ones on eBay with visual indication but it is better to get the ones without so that you are actually looking rear wards while reversing.

There is another type of sensor which works like induction loops and is taped to the inside of the rear bumper skin. However, this type only works if the car is moving so if you happen to stop near an obstacle and then reverse, it wont detect it straight away.

I purchased mine on ebay too WITH the display. I mounted my display on my parcel shelf (and reversed which sides the sensors were plugged in so it lights up on the correct side).

In terms of colour match, grab your colour code and go to an Autobarn that mix paint in a spray can for you. That plus a can of clear coat will set you back about $40.
