Hey all, I just got some springs fitted to my TJ which drop it approx 3", but i have a problem... everytime i turn right i get a loud clunking/grinding noise which is apparently the spring rubbing as its moving. Any ideas on this? like does anyone know how to fix it? or has somebody else had the same problem? I took it back and they put some spray stuff on it which stoped it for a little while but its back again.

Bingo!!
If you look at the top of it - and the bottom of it - there should be a hole - Bain posted a picture showing it - these should line up from top to bottom.
Basically you have to spin the top until it lines up - the easiest way is to re-compress the springs, line up the wholes, then uncompress them.
This has only happened on one car out of about the 10 magnas I have lowered.

3" all round hey. Many clearance issues?
I thought i was gonig to have more trouble with mine than I have and I have lowered my ride 2.5" (60mm) at the front and 1.5" (40mm) at the rear. I thought i may have more probelems at the rear due 2 my exhaust as I had lost about 4" as it was with the tips...
Good luck sorting out ur problem.
The below pic is before lowering, hoping to get some new pics 2morrow.

Tr-Boy Do yourself a favour and replace the lowerd components with the original stuff.
You can replace the shockers for something firmer but leave the springs alone.
Our TJ was lowered supposedly legal and with a verbal guarantee of being OK.
What a load of crap, we couldn't even get into our driveway without the bloody thing scraping and around sharp corners sounding like a robot farting
Unless you are doing time trials for the next world rally in my opinion the current suspension setup with after market shockers is sufficent for general driving and doing a few k's over the speed limit specified on some country roads with tempting bends.
Magna's aren't designed to scrape the ground and at the same time look totaly stupid.
Drive the car for what it was designed for.

Dude - if thats the case your stuff wasn't installed properly - or they cut your springs - becuase I was running super lows front, lows rear, with standard shockers, and I had NO issues of "robot farts" i had no issues getting up and down ANY driveway, and it handled a lot better, sat on the road safer, and didn't float at 110km/h
Also, a better set of stiffer springs can help in reducing braking distances as well. But to me - I HATE the floating of stock springs.
Also - I have installed about 10 magnas with lowered springs, and NONE of them have any noises, or have any height issues - except blakes VR-X due to the kit.

You should see my drive way, it is a ***** but i can still get up mine with out any issues, with SLs in the front and Ls in the rear no robot farts around corners or scraping, a couple of small issue with nasty speed bumps...
I don't like the floating of the origianl spring/suspension set up either and my braking/handling and definatly improved...
