Hey all, was wondering what is the thread size of the gear shaft.
The gear knob I'm looking at has an "8 MM fine thread brass insert cast into it for a nice fit. The insert can be drilled and tapped to fit 10 MM and 3/8 inch sizes" would that fit or would it need modification?

Sorry to sound mean but really have you thought of just unscrewing your gear knob and measureing it??

There are 2 different gear knob set ups, the TE to TJ use a locking nut under the gear shifter (BTW I am also assuming Manual Box here) and the TJII onwars uses a plastic bush on a larger threaded section to lock the gear knob.

Your not sounding mean it's good advice, I actually should have posted a bit more in the opening.
What part do I measure? across the top or is it the length of the thread itself? As you may or may not be aware I have no idea what they mean by 8mm thread.
