Am a newbie to this forum and have found it very helpful so far.

I would like to know however what the most common problems the 2002 TJ Advance Series II are know to have as the car is still under warrenty and intend to get Mitsi to fix the problems before they end up costing big $$$$$$

So far I have had a Dud fuel gauge, ended up being the sensor unit in the fuel tank. Got it replaced under warrenty

Dunno how it works in Nsw but in sa if your a member of the raa they will do (you have to pay) a warranty inspection and tell you all the things that are covered buy warranty and that need to be repaired :D

Bought mine in 2003 (NEW). So far, 1 x fuel guage replaced as well as the rear windscreen. Apparantly the seals were dodgy (new car had more squeaks n squeels than out-going 4 year old 200,000km TH  ). Touch wood, thats the last replacement required.

wot do they actually do to stop the windscreens squeeking ???

my front windscreen was replaced (non-mistu) a few months ago.. and now i have a very steep driveway... and it squeaks a bit.

the rear windscreen is original... and it now squeaks like a mouse on acid.

Wot is the actual fix?
(and would warrantee cover non-factory front windscreen?)

WSDsmurf they have to replace the sealing compound on the windows which when taken out can break so they just say replace the whole thing (that is what i was told).Mine when it was squeakin would make lots of niose like the surround was flexing againest the window. Also when i pulled up my driveway or reversed out.
I have also heard (not from mitsi) that they had a problem with primer curing times or something to that effect on the line but took a while till they realised. :D

My KJ MY02 Verada had its back windscreen replaced under warrantee, they said it was the wrong size put in in the first place, there was a wide gap where the black rubber seal was around it now there is virtually no gap, rattled like hell before it got replaced, now - not a sound - replaced no cost and no questions

had the front passenger power window failed after 42,000km. some plastic mounting clip broke and tangled the wires on the pulley system.

replaced under warranty, no questions asked.

"the rear windscreen is original... and it now squeaks like a mouse on acid."

Now, is it just me, or does anyone else want to see what a mouse on acid looks like?
