Had a look in the forum (from link posted) - interesting that every light for which the beam pattern was shown was from a projector headlight, not reflector...

Would like to see beam pattern from his lancer...

The fella who is distributing the HID kit to your friend is a personal friend of mine.. I can get it cheaper for anyone who wants it in here, I'll just say it's an Aussie Magna Only deal...

Until a few years after every new car comes standard with HID lights, we'll keep seeing these crappy units on the market unfortunately.

These Units will be on market no matter what. Simply because not every one will be able to pay the top price for the HID replacement parts.

same a now a days like there are 10 different varities of H4 bulbs in the market from $ 50+ i.e. Hella, Philips to cheap south asian made.

Because over here we can pay for a set of bulb which cost $55 but in rest of the world when currency value is low and average motorist simply cant afford to by them.
