Hi,

I've noticed my car is using a bit of oil.

It is using about 300ml to 400ml of oil per 1,000km. By the time I do an oil change every 7,000km or so I end up adding 2L to keep it at maximum.

The car (KJ2) has 183,000km.

There is no smoke from the exhaust, neither while driving nor during a cold start.

There are no leaks, at least none that I can see.

Oil used is HPR 10, 10W50.

Given the symptoms, can anyone tell me where the oil is likely going, and if using a different oil would maybe help?

Get the car warm, let it idle for 10 or so minutes, stand behind the car and get someone to give the car a good rev and see if there is any smoke

I thought these would cause smoke upon starting the car after it's been sitting for a while?
