OK first time here as a poster.

Have a tj magna , 1 owner. great car love the thing but recently split the black pipes on heater core and filled car with coolant so dash out new parts fitted and all reassembled.

Surprise surprise nothing broke :) no spares :) BUT i did lose the glove box catch. NFI how :( . I did also wonder why the indicators didnt work, aparently it helps to plug the hazard switch in hahaha.

But i have other interesting problems. Dash has some warning lights but no needles working , and no power to side mirrors.

Now i have checked all the plugs i undid and they are all re attached as per pics i took before removal. speed alert and all cruise etc works but no fuel - temp gauge and speedo - tacho needles.

not keen on no temp gauge so any pointers wanted.

Just had a quick look at the circuit diagrams.

The power mirrors, fuel gauge and temp gauge all share the B-77 Plug (Connection of dash harness and J/B).
The defogger is on there too.

The plug is on the drivers fusebox, top left corner when looking at it.

I once forgot to plug the brake plug in and was baffled on why my brake lights would not turn off. Easy to forget stuff around there ^^

Cheers for the info Xhai, unfortunately that wasnt it . Gave me something to look at though.

Im going to remove gauges and check if signal is at the plugs behind as maybe its not connecting right ??

Purely as im no wiring guru, where would the next plug in line be on that b77 connector?? could i have missed one closer to dash pad maybe??

i really dont want to re remove it but i may have to as driving no temp gauge scares me and i hate driving to the overspeed even though i know my speedo is correct :P

And you sir have led to solving my problem. I chased where the B77 goes and what it connects to. It happens to be the black plug on the top of the cluster. all wires were ok but it was then i noticed that the ribbon circuit stuff had slightly pulled out . i realigned it and SPEEDO works.

thanks for the nudge in the right direction. Just what i needed

Just saw your post, glad you got it going again!
Sorry I wasn't faster. ^^

When I did my gearbox beginning of the year I had swapped the speed sensor and stupid me replaced it with a broken one. Haha. I know first hand how freaky driving without gauges is.

Welcome to the club by the way :D
