G'day all, I've been lurking around the forums for the last few days trying to work out what to do with this TS, Bought it cheap so I've decided to repair the the damage, needs a new bonnet, grill, headlights and a replacement upper radiator support panel. Apart from that drives really nice everything seems to be working except the air-con, 185000 klm's on the clock 5 speed manual. here's some pic's enjoy.

Welcome to the club!
Good to see someone fixing up a mighty second gen! Only 185,000km.. she's just broken in. They drive nice and manual is even better. Keep us updated on your progress mate.

Yes! Another Southerner! And with another white second gen no less! Welcome!

All those bits will be easy to grab and cheap as from U-Pullit, depending on if your planning to keep the car, there are some quick and easy mods to make them look really nice, eg seeing as you need new headlights, maybe consider some Para(bolics)'s as they change the whole look of the car and are only about $100-$150 or so a pair.

2nd gens are an exceptional drive car for their age IMHO and it saddens me that hardly anyone does them up anymore.

Thanks for the welcome. well got busy today removed the guards and unpicked the front radiator support, now I have to wait until monday to get the parts from the wreckers. not sure what lights are going in will probably go standard lights although parabolic lights do look pretty good, will have to see what's at the yard.

Just an update on my progress, I pick up a parts car and have stripped all the parts needed, just need to take some measurements before I unpick the spot welds on the frontend.

One big hint, get the front as close to straight BEFORE you undo any spot welds on your car, biggest mistake people make is that they just remove the damaged parts and then find they have nothing to either reference from or they find that they have nothing to actually get straight if that makes sense

Even if the rad support or what ever you have damaged is still distorted and looks like crap, get all the main points back to where they belong and then you can pick it off and replace it

Just a thought . . . you are fixing the front end crash damage, but you need to also look at why the previous owner crashed it. Obviously excluding driver error, look at the mechanicals, brakes especially, condition of tyres, etc.
(Saw a fully restored Sigma at the wreckers years ago - new paint, exhaust system, etc - with it's nose caved in. I just happened to know at the time the Sigmas have major master cylinder problems that could catch you out on a wet road. Made me think, seeing that wreck. lol)

Good point post above. You really need a fresh bonnet on to get the rad support and mudguard alignment correct. Those last few mm to get everything right are the hardest. lol

Thanks for the replies, I measured front and compared with another undamaged car and it's pretty close, the car hit a roo and all the damage was high up on the top radiator support and bonnet, drove the car home and it drives nice, everything works but the aircon . bonnet is on but still have to weld the new front on. will get some more pic's up over the next day or so.
