Hi guys,
I noticed on my KJ2 that I cannot do a single wipe of the wiper blades.
I am not sure if there is this feature, though I thing it should have it.
Basically as I moved back the wiper lever to spray/wash the windscreen, there should be an intermediate point where it just does a single wipe.
Is mine not working, or do these cars not have this feature?
I think it should have this feature is it actually does a single wipe, but it sprays at the same time when it shouldn't

On other cars there is a halfway point to spraying the windows which does a single wipe. I think this may be the first car I've driven that doesn't have this feature

The feature is overrated :P Pulling back your stalk is pretty much the same thing. Only you lose a bit of washer fluid...

Magna:
Wash, + wipe position.
Intermittent with variable time interval between wipes.
Low speed, continuous.
High speed, continuous.
Lancer (2004)
Wash, + wipe position.
Single wipe.
Intermittent with fixed time interval between wipes.
Low speed, continuous.
High speed, continuous.
Pretty much same-same.
#Sarcasm alert:
On the other hand, if you find this situation intolerable, write a stiff letter to the engineers, and send it to Tonsley Park and Mitsu Japan headquarters. When they realise their mistake and serious omission, I'm sure they will do a recall and retrofit.

I was thinking about getting a 1 second delay relay for the wiper fluid.
That should give me a single wipe feature

OR.....just do as above, push down to the intermittent position and lift again, same thing....

Sometimes instant water can save you from water smudge. So as much as I enjoy little mods that make the car more user friendly, I would suck it up this time around. Though if you dont feel the same and would really like it to function that way, then go for it. Easy mod after all.
Just to reiterate, do not pull the lever if you want it to wipe without spraying.
Instead put it onto intermittent and then turn off 0.5 seconds later. (if you do it too fast, the wipers stop 10cm up the windscreen and you simply repeat)
I've never experienced pulling the lever halfway to cause a single wipe. would not be impressed with the 'feature' when it can be done another way almost as easily.

The closest I've seen is where you tap the wiper stalk upwards instead of down and it will activate a single wipe, unless you hold it there in which case it will wipe until you release it. Never seen this "half way" thing you're talking about. I just tap the wiper stalk to intermittant and back, obviously going slow enough that it continues the full wipe and not stopping 10-20cms up from the park position.
Suprised they don't have the single wipe tap-up feature though.. this and the pull click-on click-off high beam stalk is the only two retarded things I don't like about the Magna/Veradas.
