Hey guys,
Today I removed the parabolics from my TJ Magna, I reconnected the red wire that I had to cut and earth out when I installed the parabolics. Re-installed the standard headlights, checked to make sure the lights were all working.. All good except the headlights are not working. Highbeam, parkers and indicators all work perfectly fine.
I have tried different globes, I have checked the fuses and relays, all ok. There is power getting to the globes but they are both not working.
Any suggestions?? Really need to get them working again.
Thanks in advance

Double-negative lighting setup strikes again! Power is supplied to the lights via relays, but it's the earth that's switched when flipping between HB & LB. Wire colours and functions are below:
Yellow/Red: Power via relay (HB) & 10A fuse to LH side single-filament hi-beam (inner)
Light green/Red: Power via relay (HB) & 10A fuse to RH side single-filament hi-beam (inner)
Red/Blue: Power via relay (LB) & 15A fuse to common pin of LH side dual-filament hi/lo-beam (outer)
White/Red: Power via relay (LB) & 15A fuse to common pin of RH side dual-filament hi/lo-beam (outer)
Red: Earth for all hi-beam bulbs & filaments (2 x single filament + hi-beam side of both dual filament bulbs)
Red/White: Earth for both lo-beam filaments (lo-beam side of both dual filament bulbs)
The Red/White wire should provide an earth when LB is selected, and the Red wire provides earth when HB is selected. All other colours should provide 12V power when the lights switch is on. The relays are badly labelled since the "LB" relay actually provides power to both HB and LB filaments in the outer, dual filament bulbs. The "HB" relay only powers the inner, single filament bulbs.

But... All I did when I changed from standard to the paras was cut the red wire, and earth it out... When I removed the paras and installed the standard lights, I cut the red wire again, and rejoined it to where I cut it previously (on both sides)... Shouldn't they go back to working normally now??
I never changed relays or anything, just that wire modification..

Sorry mate, without seeing your wiring I really can't say why it isn't working. All I can go by is the wiring diagram. I'd use a multi-tester to check voltage or earth is available at each wire when it should be, ie: light switch to 'headlights' position, 12V should be available at Yellow/Red, Light green/Red, Red/Blue & White/Red. With HB/LB selector in LB position, Red/White should be earthed and Red should be disconnected, when HB is selected the reverse should be true (Red earthed, Red/White disconnected).
