Howdy Magna folk!
I'm a bit stumped here... Looking to replace front pads & possibly discs but when searching Bendix site it says
Magna TL Aug 2000-May 2003 Part numbers DB1203/1204
Magna TL (AWD) Aug 2003 - now Part numbers DB1223/1231
http://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue?manufacturer=Mitsubishi&model=Magna
Confusion lies here - My car paperwork from dealer says it's a August 2003 Magna TL ES (08/03) but I'm pretty sure it's not AWD  Could they have fudged up the manufacture date or is it stamped onto chassis?
I've also noticed on some other spare parts sites they have brakes listed for either 1 or 2 piston callipers at front.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Is it as simply looking under the rear for a diff to tell if AWD ?
Vin number if that helps 6MMTL8D423TXXXXXX
Are ALL 08/2003 & up Magna's AWD?
Thanks a bunch!

TJ Magnas were built between August 2000-May 2003, not TL.
Provided your TL is a front wheel drive model (and it will be, if it is ES spec), DB1203 fronts and DB1204 rears will fit.

ES is the base model 2WD, As far as I know should be DB1203/1204 that's what is on my TW LS wagon. I put bendix GCT on my front, nothing special in my opinion. Supercheap bendix premium are the same as the GCT as far as i know packaged for SC. I'll be looking for rears shortly and they won't be GCT. I think SC has a deal 2 for 1 until Oct 18 $72 on the Bendix if they stock both.

Thanks for the fast replies guys.
That's bloody confusing, nearly all parts catalogues I look at for any part say TL up to may 2003 then AWD TL 08/03, that's why I was stumped. So would it have 1 or 2 piston callipers?
Yeah I'm looking at the Bendix from Supercheap as they have a buy one get one free for $73 - thought I'd get both front and rears, also have DBA rotors for $49 so price seems sweet for now.

Are those DBA rotors at Supercheap for $49 each?

Mate, AWD stands for all wheel drive.
So have a look under the back of the car and see if there is a diff for the rear axle.
Simples!
If you're really worried about the right pads, take one pad out and trace the outline on a sheet of A4.
Take that to the spare parts joint of your choice. Most brake part books will have an outline for each type of pad.
Simples! keeek.

Single, and rotors are so cheap these days virtually a no brainer instead of machining to a reduced thickness and no down time when DIY. I replaced mine to save time on the front around the 100 000K mark, very little wear on the originals just badly glazed.

Yeah mate, it also says "applies to customer orders" so they should get em in if they don't have stock otherwise I'm eyeing some on ebay for $96 + $15 express posted per pair.

Yeah I know what AWD stands for, car is with the missus (at out-laws lol) till Friday night otherwise I'd look under rear and pull a pad out... Sale ends on Friday so I wanted to go grab em tomorrow or Thursday.

"very little wear on the originals just badly glazed"
Without going to new discs, a glazed disc can be fixed with emery paper and a bit of elbow grease.
If they are cheap then replacing is good.
But for anyone here a bit short of the readies, emery is the way to go.
Cheers.

You can get front rotors from brakesdirect.com.au for $34 each (same for the rears) and QFM Super X pads for $49 a set which are from what I read much better than Bendix.
I believe postage may be free too

Or use the Supercheap parts guide if want cheap protex DR426,DR425 $128 (4 rotors) free delivery until Oct 18 online orders over $50. I have protex on my galant, no issues and looked just as good as the DBA I got for the wagon 3 years ago and also RDA I got 9 years ago for the Subaru. All the plain jane standard finish, no protective finish

Op
If an es is a fwd
Pads are 1203 and 1204
Rotors 425 and 426
Emery cloth on a rotor, will pass on that thanks as rotors also do warp and a lathe is the best fix.m as for thinner rotor why do they list min thickness
