Just wondering about turboing the girl. If I could find a tubo out of a sigma or even another car that would go a long way to reducing the cost of installation. Does anyone know of any cars that the turbos would suit and how much the effort would be. LLAMA

this all depends on what condition your engine ad gearbox or trans is in if you dont intend rebuilding, and how much power you want to gain, do you want to go for all new gear or do you want to hunt for 2nd hand. when someone upgrades the turbo and intercoler on a fairly new car and they part with the old stuff, and you do some work yourself it can be way cheaper. other wise going for all new think of around $5000-$7000. I believe RPW have conversion kits for 1st gens. PM mitsiman to find out, he can alos advise you the best housing/turbine sizes for your needs.
your TN carbie or efi?
EFI is alot more expensive coz you have to look at fuel pumps and computers and that, either way you still need to make up a custom exhaust manifold and dump pipe etc.
Try a TD05H 14B pretty good turbo all round, or if ur after more power go for the 16G model off a Evo3 will give u plently of wheelspin and torque steer  use something like a 2nd hand supra intercooler to cut cost and a fuel pump like a VL turbo one
I was considering doing mine in the future, say 12 months time. Is it possible to tune a turbo to have a torque table of around 230-240nm instead of going for a massivly outlandish power/torque figure?
Well a Tn eci has 205nm torque so getting just increasing it by 30nm will be hard seeing as most turbos have 7psi acutators on em. So asfar as i know ur gonna have a pretty large increase. maybe look at a supercharger????

The Mitsu turbo would probly be alright, but I can't imagine they're exactly common= NOT too cheap, plus they're designed to flow 2L. As for a factory Supra core.. even the newer models only had a small cooler in the side of the guard. If you were to go for something like an RB25 Skyline turbo, and a VR4 Galant intercooler, they should be pretty cheap, & damned effective.
The skyline turbo is suited to a 2.5L, & although they have a ceramic wheel which is prone to delaminating, thats never a problem below 14psi from what I've read (hang on.. that might have been the Soarer turbos.. ehh, can't remember  ). Best of all they're common-as, so should be able to pick one up for $300-400 & get it service for another coupla hungy.
A VR4 has pretty much a RRP of about $500, is petty big (front mounted from factory)& is from all accounts one of the best flowing factory cores available... afterall they were the EVOs' predecessor! I know thats what I'll be useing when mine is Supercharged! :D
Bottom line is, think of a car with similar characteristics, that is commonly modified.. those parts should suit, & be relatively inexpensive.
I hope these suggestions help you out.

I'm curious as to how much a skyline/vl turbo setup would cost all together to get it setup for my TR EFI, and what sort of increase will i get? eg. how many kw's atw.
