Hey all,

I've been checking the rear bushes and the trailing arm bushes are soft and their is movement in the front ones. Has anyone replaced these before?
I know from doing bushes before that the pedders ones I will be getting don't need to be pressed in. But when removing the old ones can I just blow them out with a blow torch? Or do I need to press them out?

Cheers
Dayne

Fire is your friend.
If you get two piece bushes to replace them, as you say, no need to press them in :)

Yeah I thought as much, was talking to pedders after i posted and they said if there is the metal ring on the outer diameter of the bush they burn the rubber then chisel the metal out, but if its just rubber they press it out. I'm just gonna use the blow torch I think, it's more fun anyway. :)

I'd be inclined to use a big drill to weaken the rubber, push it out, then cut the outer steel ring - if any - with a hacksaw from the inside. Avoids the stink of burning rubber. lol

Burning rubber is up there with campfire, paint and petrol fumes with me. Love those smells...

Hacksaw blade is a good idea though :)
