Not sure if this has been covered already, (i did a quick search but couldn't find anything)
The buttons on both sides of the steering wheel have stopped working, they don't spring back leading me to think they are broken in some way so my questions are:
Would I be able to find these, take them off another steering wheel and attach them to mine replacing the old ones? If so, how hard is this to do in regards to removing steering wheel cover and such with airbags.....
Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe download the manual (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95825&highlight=workshop) and have a read section 54A page 230.
It does look like the airbag, wheel and rear cover has to be removed. It does show how to test each switch with a multimeter.
You'd have to check these part numbers but I think they are;
MR588144 SWITCH,STEERING WHEEL REMOTE CONTROL LH,
MR588145 SWITCH,STEERING WHEEL REMOTE CONTROL RH.
If these are correct it'll be interesting to see what they want for them here. In japan $6 ea, US $15ea
I don't own a 380 nor have I ever done this before.

Oh yeah probably shoulda looked in the service manual!
Thanks for all the info! If I have to mess around with the airbag I might just leave them the way they are.
Perhaps the stealer ship could do it for me, no idea on charges though.

Lochie.
Cause you said both switches stopped at once.
I wouldn't start looking there.
Try the plus at the back of your head unit and move up from there.
Highly unlikely that they both failed at the same time.

Oh no, the buttons are actually broken, you can feel they no longer have a spring in them, I'm running an aftermarket HU anyways, they didn't break at the same time either, both up down on the right hand side no longer and dont have a "spring" in them, as well as the down on the left. Both middle buttons are fine!

How did you get on lochie360 ?.
I just purchased a 05 LS for the mother in law and the vehicle has similar issue. Both switches feel slack/loose and if you were to try them they would be luck to work once in a few dozen attempts.
Do we know if the switch can be removed with a small flat screwdriver and are just connected up by some spade terminals ?. If so i guess i could take one side out of my SX and try the switch in the in laws car. Just don't want try removing something that is not intended to be removed that way.

Oh I didn't end up getting around to doing anything about it - I figured the less that is wired up in the car the less that can go wrong!
I suppose you could find the parts - however I think I remember hearing that it is not as simple as that, the steering wheel assembly needs to be pulled apart/unscrewed and each switch assembly to be unscrewed and swapped over.
If I get around to doing it I'll be sure to do a DIY tutorial

Thanks for that, am not real keen myself pulling the wheel apart. Don't quite have the patience for that sort of thing and a bit too heavy handed.
