I don't know if anyone else had this issue? If you have the visor turned around against the side window, it swings back hitting you in the head when you turn right. Even more annoying when you have the little plastic extension out.

Never had this issue with the Magna but the 380's sun visor is much heavier. Any solutions that others have found short of some Velcro holding it in place? I had a look at the mechanism and there is a small spring holding tension on the visor shaft. I couldn't see a way of tighten it up.

Better off betting a new one, or a good second hand one.

Mine has always done this (from near new) and the passenger one does the same. My father's 380 is also the same. I get the impression it is a design thing rather then a wear and tear problem.

Mine used to do the same, the driver's visor would swing back and whack me in the noggin if I turned right at anything over a snail's pace.

But I found a ghetto fix.

Some velcro where the visor rubs against the roof lining. Preferrably as close to the visor/roof lining colour as you can get, I got mine from Spotlight.

Stick two bits of the 'nobbly' side under the visor mount. Best if you take the visor off, then stick them on, then when you re-mount the visor it holds them solidly in place. You need two bits to make it stick out/down far enough to make solid contact with the other part of the velcro.

Then stick the 'felty' bit of velcro around the top edge of the visor, obviously right where it will catch on the nobbly bit.

You want the nobbly bits to be about 4cm long, with 2cm under the mount and 2cm sticking out, and the felty bit to be about 5cm long, wrapped evenly around the edge of the sunvisor.

Took me about four tries, trial & error, to work out this fix.

My Verada one actually does this as well, though only under fairly hard cornering. I just assumed it was a design thing, not a fault as such.

This is not uncommon on a lot of cars, not just Mitsubishi vehicles

The car maker has to make a compromise between making the visor stiff enough to stay in place but not be too stiff where when you try and move the visor it gets bent or damaged due to being too stiff

While it should not move under normal driving conditions they often do unfortunately

Thanks Treeadeyman. I think I'll try the Velcro plan. It whacked me in the head again today and the plastic extender hurts when it hits your head!

Happened to me too for the last 2 years...it made me smile each time I forgot and took roundabouts at too spritely a speed...

Happened to my Verada brand new. Took it back to the dealer and just did a sort of ghetto trick by inserting a tighter plastic sleave account the metal. Then again, I hardly have it in that position after getting tinting done.

I'm the same, I literally only ever use it if the window is down. With 18% tint, the sun could be 10 feet away from me and it still wouldn't be a problem.

Although that's mostly because I and the rest of the planet would have been incinerated long ago.
