Hey everyone,
I've had my car for nearly 2 years now and feel as though its time to give it well deserved reward for being such a great car. I've been wanting to change the stock sx silver shroud headlights in my 07 380 series 2 over to the vrx/gt black shroud style headlights.
But after doing alittle reading I found that some people mentioned that you need to lower the front bumper to remove the headlights, although one person said you don't need to lower the front bumper to remove the headlights.
Is this a relatively easy job to do or can anyone give me some advice on the best way to do the job.
any help will be greatly appreciated .

Hey mate,
Yes it's easiest to just remove the bar completely. Open the bonnet, remove the half dozen or so clips from the grill, these run aking left to right passing in front of the air intake, leave the two closest to the head lights on to avoid the bar dropping when you un do everything else then remove these last before pulling the bar away from the car. Then start at one end of the grill and slowly pry it off. The bottom section clips onto the bar, its in tight but will come away with out any damage. Then remove the clip that is now exposed at the bonnet hinge.
Then remove all the under trays from under the car first followed by the 3 or 4 plastic screw clip things (they look the same as the clips underneath) in the wheel arches. Easiest way to do that is by turning the wheels to give you a bit more access. Once those clips are off pull the splash guard toward you or the tyre to allow access. You'll need either a 10mm socket or Phillips head screw driver to remove two bolts that mount the bar to the front guards. Then repeat on the opposite side. Also remember to un plug the fog lamps as you separate the bar, it's equally important to remember connecting them up again and making sure everything is working before putting it all back together lol

No need to separate the grill from the bar, just take the whole bar & grill off in one piece. Remove all the clips (called 'scrivets') from the undertrays and bar as Kif says. Beware they can be real pricks of things to remove, you think they will screw out but half they time they won't. Best bet is to use a very small flat blade screwdriver to lever the head of the screw bit out of the mount bit, enough so you can then stick a bigger screwdriver under it and then twist it to lever the screw out further. Then sometimes the screw will pull out easily, other times you need to grab it with some pliers and give it a real yank. Sometimes you have to destroy the scrivet to get it out.
And there are three bolts on each side of the bar mounting it to the front guards, not two. If you try to yank the bar off after removing only two bolts each side you could do some damage. If you have undone everything you need to undo then the bar should pretty much just fall off. Then you have 3 x 10mm bolts (well really two bolts and one screw) holding each headlight in, and out they pop. Just remember to remove all the light plugs first, not forgetting the indicator globes.
Well this is how it works for a removing a base model 380 front bar, which I did at least 6 times! There might be one or two little difference for a VRX bar, such as the fog light switches that Kif mentions.

As above! Work a treat for the SX model also! I snapped the cables running to the fog lights because I forgot to unplug them so make sure you do it :p

Sorry, there may be 3 bolts either side. Had mine off again on the weekend and only ever had two lol

Pretty sure that the vrx /GT grills have to come off first as it actually hides one of the scrivets near the bonnet latch.

Scrivets are the devil!
Biggest PITA to take them all out.
Had to take off my whole front bumper and headlights when installing Angel Eyes around the foggies.
Wrecked so many scrivets in the the process

Trick on most of them is you will see a little gap between the screw and the top, use a pick to lift them up a little, pointy nose pliers to then remove the screw part and all good
