Hey guys i'm coming up to my major service. Been getting quotes around the place. most seem to be $940 to $1100. Just wondering if these would be in the right ball park. Does anyone have any recent quotes that i could compare with?
Cheers, Belzawagon

Sounds average for a retail chain or dealership. Is that with the hydraulic tensioner replaced also? What about the water pump?
I paid $1091 for mine in May last year and included the following:
Timing belt, tensioner pulley, hydraulic adjuster, idler pulley, camshaft seals, and crankshaft seals replaced
Water pump, gaskets and O-ring replaced, coolant added (coolant had been replaced recently)
RH Upper engine mount replaced
Power steering and Alternator & A/C drivebelts replaced
LH Upper timing belt cover replaced
Radiator cap replaced
But that's buying genuine parts at a discounted/trade price and getting an independent mechanic to fit
I didn't flush the coolant, replace the filters or spark plugs as they had all been replaced a couple months prior, when I first purchased the car.

At 90,000 km only the belt will need changing. (in addition to the normal oil/filter(s) change of course)
Arrange for that, but tell the mechanic to ring you if he finds any oil or coolant leaks under the covers. Get him to examine the ancillary drive belts, if they are originals they may be starting to crack up.
If your wagon is a TL or TW it is way overdue for the belt change time wise. Anyhow . . .

Is in the ball park, personally I would not touch an after market tensioner so dont fall into that trap. What else was included as really the 90 or 100k service should include coolant, trans flush, plugs, all filters, timing belt (we do complete kit), brake fluid, service, handbrake adjust etc etc. Just doing a timing belt is not the full 90 or 100k service
