OK so i recently purchased a magna wagon (sold my verada so i could get a wagon) and the battery is at least 6 years old.. I dont have any faith in it at all really, and since im going to be upgrading the stereo with 2 amps and a 12" sub i need a battery that's somewhat durable also.
In previous cars i just bought optima's but are there cheaper alternatives out there these days?

a decent century 'high performance' battery should do fine. you'd want something more if you were running racks of amps for competition systems and the like. i'm using a repco battery at the moment with a bosch sitting spare in case the repco one shits out. currently running two amps myself.

I just buy the cheapest 550 Amp battery, about $80, last for 3 years or more.

I use a Delkor 22FR-680 battery. I don't have an amp hooked up presently, but the Blackvue and (and phone charger when its in use) runs off a Power Magic Pro after the car is switched off (until it reaches 11.8V) and has always started up fine. Paid under $130 for it, on sale, so can't complain.

Funny thing is the Century Hi-Performance, or Ultra performance is probably a better battery, something to do with vibration resistance etc (Australian made, we have rougher roads here than in Europe).

Nothing beats "supercharge (http://www.supercharge.com.au)" batteries don't worry getting long guarantees they will last 5 years +.....they sell direct from there warehouse too.

if going for audio most people run a optima yellow top battery.
i have an exide(however is a mitsubishi sold one) and it does the job well. the old man has a marshall 4wd battery(they install free and have a 3 year warranty)
otherwise any battery that meets the cca needed for the car should be fine

Nothings beats supercharge hey? I bet Stinger, Optima, Odyssey etc, better stop making batteries then. :facejump:
Alot of people use Optima batteries (one including myself), there are better batteries out there for the money but I found the Optima's at the right price had stock locally available, terminals that suited my application and would take all the draw I would place on it no dramas.
If you looking sub $150, I wouldnt be looking too hard, just got to your local and get what suits your needs and budget.

Try Battery world. They have a good range commendable warranty and in some cases, they even install it for you at your house.
