Hey guys first time posting a thread here so please be gentle.
Ok my issue is:
We brought a 97tf altera 3l auto had 160k on it about 3 years ago for $800 we have spent a bit of money on it like lowering tj boot lid and tail lights sports interior and rear sub frame. also have a full vrx kit to go on this paid $300 inc vrx front seats tj2 cluster door cards carpet etc
Earlier this year i had an offer from the local pick-a-part of a 01 tj vrx 3.5l manual with 159k kms for $1000 so i couldn't say no, has been for a rw needs a few things but not too concerned as the mrs cant drive manual. its clean but the clear is peeling
and yesterday i went and picked up a 99 th XS Tourer (exec) 3.5l manual with 120k kms for $200. this needs timing belt a full service (didnt have the 90/100k service done) those kms were mainly highway its really clean inside and out (peeling clear again) so needs a bit more done to it. but in the end only an exec so no elec windows but has trip comp
Now i need to get rid of or part one of them mrs has told me so!!
What are your suggestions?

Sounds like you can't sell the TF as your missus needs to drive it.
If the VR-X was clean, I'd keep it over the XS. Manual aside, the XS wouldn't be worth much for parts, but then again you could easily sell the manual for more than what you paid for the car.

I'd probably keep the vrx and sell the other one as a manual conversion. I imagine there would be a few people wanting to change their cars to manual....I spent AGES trying to find another manual box for my car and ended up having to freight one over from Sydney (I live in WA) lol

Get rid of the XS. You've got the good bits in the Altera and the VRX, and aside from initial outlay, you have invested little in it.
Clear peeling and manual windows? Australia says no.

the reason the xs was brought was it has a new battery valued at $129 in it (we need one in the tf) also had a new alpine headunit ( already pulled and advertised for sale for $100 ( not on here)) would i make the money back of the xs if i parted it? or would it be worth more whole?

Lets start with the fact there is no such thing as an XS Tourer, this is something someone has made up over the years perhaps back at the dealership when was still new, many dealers made up all sorts of names for cars back then
The car to get rid of is the TH, you paid $200 for it, the manual conversion is worth $750 or there abouts. Then there will be other parts to sell. Now if you have the time, space and knowledge to part the car out then go for it, if not then simply put it up for an ebay auction for a starting price of $200 (as you have already taken the battery and head unit out) and see where that goes. You can't lose really when you think about it as you have already got your money back from the head unit and battery alone. Anything more is just butter
As for not being able to drive a manual, this is a legitimate thing. My wife at the moment can not drive a manual, I am sure if I had the time to sit with her and teach her she would learn but that takes time we dont have. I know of plenty of males who have never driven a manual either, had one customer who got a manual conversion once and had to get his wife to come and get him after the job was done as he did not realise he would struggle to drive a manual himself.

The XS Tourer is a QLD-based dealers pack based on the 3.5L Executive and comprised of 15" 'Manta' accessory alloys, rear spoiler, cruise control and unique decals.
Was available only in the TH models and only a few hundred were sold.

So as stated by me was a Dealer thing not a factory thing. Even more reason not to be too worried about keeping the car as there is no worth. Vic dealers did those sorts of retarded things here to TH and TJ series as well as making Platinums out of standard EX 380's. One dealership was shut down here in Vic for that
OP, as above, keep the 2 best cars, sell or scrap the remainder. Keep one auto for your partner and then 1 manual for yourself.

Ditto that.
