View Full Version : TF Verada - no brake lights

The Verada's brake lights have suddenly stopped working - including the rear window brake light.

- Tail lights are working
- Checked the STOP light fuse, it was fine
- Replaced the fuse to be sure
- Checked the globes (unlikely they'd all be blown), they're all good
- Test light at the globe end = dead
- Test light in fuse box = live
- Cruise still works, brake pedal deactivates cruise (means the brake switch is ok right?)
- Can't see any *obvious* loose connections

- Maybe related: AIRCON button on dash has been a bit dodgy in the last week, but seems to have come good.

Any ideas?

Check the brake pedal - there may be two separate switches, one for cruise and a separate one for the brake lights.
(Just a guess though.)

It's a bad switch.
Local Mitsubishi dealer reckons $150 for a (genuine) replacement.
Is there a more affordable option?

150 for a brake switch is a bit expensive, but then again brake lights are very, very important.

Try a wreckers?
