Hay guys

My title basically says wat my questions is. Can u use the 3.5-evo clutch in the 3.0l cars? The 3.0l clutches are a fair bit cheaper.

Cheers

Kurt, thats quite a strange one, first you want to know if a 3.5-evo clutch will fit a 3.0l but then you say that the 3.0l clutch is a fair bit cheaper. Which suggest to me you are thinking about fitting a 3.0l clutch to a 3.5-evo?

Cheers Dave

Sorry mate. I ment an evo clutch or 3.5 clutch onto a 3.0l

You've got a project going, so how much torque do you estimate? That is what will dictate your clutch requirement, not cost unfortunately. If your going to upspec the engine go the evo, just check the clutch centre clears the flywheel. If not get the flywheel machined to suit.

I'm going to be using a 4.2 from a 380 just boared out. So abit off torque and power. The only thing is that the 3.5l are a pull type clutch and the 3.0l arnt pull type.

Mate, the 3.0 are pull type clutches, only the second gen ran the push clutch

Basically they are all the same set up and was the plate size that changed, the 3.0 ran a 225mm plate, the 3.5 ran a 230mm plate (Ralliart ran the 240mm) and then the 380 ran the 240mm plate as did the Evo and the VR4. The 380 uses a slightly different offset on the flywheel so if you have the 380 flywheel you will have a really bad feeling clutch using the Evo clutch on it, we have done it and did not like it at all.

Use a stepped 3.5 flywheel with the evo clutch

I would recommend you use the same as you did last time, the evo kit, step the flywheel so as to make sure that the rivets clear again like you did last time and you are good to go.

Yes I'm with Mal, deffinately use the Evo clutch for that.
Cheers Dave.
