Hay all

Just picked up my manual TE advance. It's got 2 issues. Antilock light stays on. Something
To do with the brakes obviously. The abs doesn't kick in aswell brake fluid is full. So not shore? Reverse lights doesnt work. Tried replacing the fuse didn't work. The bulbs themselves work aswell so not shore?

Cheers

One of the abs sensors in any of the four hubs could be faulty or the actual abs pump could be faulty.

If its manual the reverse switch on the gearbox needs replacing for the reverse lights to work.

Cheers mate. It's probably the reverse switch the bulbs and fuse are fine. Is there anyway to check the sensors or abs module? I braught the car cheap so I don't wanna really waste much money on it.

Pull them out and clean them with degreaser also check that the cvs have the abs ring attached

Not specifically directing this topic, but my old NL Pajero had the SRS light come on. Got it checked by a diagnostic man and it was lack of power to the SRS system. Blown fuse. He replaced the fuse but it blew again. Eventually I traced it to the reversing light switch - the SRS system draws its power from the reversing light circuit. Replaced the reversing light switch and all was fine after that.

Cheers mal for your help over the phone today. Fixed the reverse switch. I didn't tighten it up as much and the reverse lights working. I'm just gonna have to tackle the anti-lock light. Is it usually a sensor or the pump itself?

ABS can be either, really need to get it plugged in and see if there are any fault codes

One way to check the sensors is use a multimeter, unplug each, they should be all the same resistance, if one is significantly different there there is your issue. Cant remember the resistance they should be as I use the MUTT to check these and have no need to plug into each sensor here.

Cheers mal. I've got a multimeter off my dad. Do I set it to a/c or dc volts or ohms? Does it matter wat side the positive or negative is on not shore on how to work that out. I was just gonna spin the wheel and see if that works not shore if that's the correct procedure. Sorry I'm terrible with electrical stuff lol.

Cheers

Resistance is in ohms
