still having problems with my TH exe. the fuel gauge still doesn't work and i'm trying to fix it. there is a brand new fuel sender in it. i've been looking at
http://122.148.77.132/4gt-manuals/Mitsubishi%20Magna%20&%20Verada%20Service%20Manual%20(includes%20Ralliar t%20Ed)/THKHMAN/9954/9954P333.PDF
on page 39 and it shows the connector pin witch i think is behind the dash cluster. should i test pin 6 - fuel sender in or pin 17 - fuel gauge (out) or both?. if so how what setting on the multimeter and how exactly would i test it?
Thank you in advance for your help.

got the cluster out and these are the ohms for the fuel gauge i get
Ign+ to ground = 106.3
FU to ground = 97.5 or 145.5 with the Ign+ screw removed. i dont have a long enuf probe to test anything involveing Ign+ to FU or Ground so i'm not sure on those.
FU - IGN+ = 81.4
I'm reading they should be something like
Power supply–Earth: 56.3 Ω
Power supply–Fuel gauge: 106 Ω
Fuel gauge–Earth: 150.3 Ω
does this mean the gauge is broken or okay?. this was tested out of the car everything disconected with just a multimeter set on 200 ohms.

when the key is off on on acc listing to music. with the negative on the ground and positive on the fuel pin it gives a reading of about 170 ohms, but when i turn the igniton on it reads -1?. Also i just tested the connector that is on the pump side, with the Positive on the fuel gauge and the negative on the ground it gives a reading of 80 Ohms witch is right because it had the fuel light on on Saturday and only put 20 bucks in it so the fuel level is very low i know for sure. that is all i can test so now i can only put it togeather and wait the verdict. Thank all you guys for your views and help.

The way I use to check to see if the cluster or the sender was at fault is by earthing the last pin (By memory) on the fuel sender plug with the ignition on. If the gauge moved it was the sender and if it didn't it would be cluster related.

By memory the wire on the right when it's plugged in, if not try the other side it would damage anything. I stripped back the wire a little and with another bit of wire earthed it to the body.
