So as the title states, after finally getting the heads back on and ready to go for my victory drive....the bloody thing won't start. And of course it's not just ur average 'simple fix' it has to be difficult thankyou magna once again :/
So what its doing:
Turns over and tries to fire occasionally but never actually starts and runs. It definitely has fuel pressure and injector pulse, I have pressure gauge on my reg and the injectors are spitting fuel, so no doubt the fuel system is in the clear. The engine timing is correct, have double and triple checked that, so my engine timing is in the clear.
Now for the 'tricky bit' the spark. The plugs and connectors are all plugged in and the earth earthed. BUT it only makes a spark every so often, i.e. I can crank the engine for 10secs and not see any spark on my timing light (on cyl one). Or I can crank it for 10secs and see like 3-4 flashes , when it did flash tho it was just over 10°, which apparently according to another post on here, with that connector thingy not earthed out is where it's ment to sit....also I put the timing light on the coil lead and swung it over and got all over the show, quick flashes, pauses, slower flashes, quick flashes again...not nice consistent quick flashes....
So if anyone has any light they can shed on my situation, or even ideas as I'm spent, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking a standard coil and a Bosch GT40 coil to work tomorrow along with my freshly reconditioned distributor that was SUPPOSED to be going on my new engine :( and il try them. I'm hoping it's just the coil so I can put my dizzy safely back in its box at home haha
