hi guys,
i am new to this forum i have a 2000 TJ sports 5 speed manual has been lowered has 19 inch rims i have a front end vibration under load and when doing 120 on freeway took car to pedders they said drive shafts. so got my machinic to check he agreed he change the shafts now i still have vibration it is better than was get very little at 120 km took to a cv guy and he said the male shaft which is left i think is to long and is meant to have 20 mm of play apparently the sports and vrx shafts ar different to stock one. the shafts are brand new ive also had the top engine mounts done not sure about bottoms. any ideas of what else it could be or what to look at would be appreciated.

thanks

First off all the best way to cure your vibration and keep your licence is not to do 120 on a freeway :)

The half shaft is very expensive to get and hard to get a used one for a manual. Get your mechanic to remove the carrier bearing and replace the bearing, the rest of that shaft has no wear points so no need to throw it out

Also check your other parts of the car such as dampers if lowered, try different wheels as often a small out of round on a low profile tyre will do the same thing. Check bushes etc as well as the car is no young anymore.

Knock out the cheap things first. Wheel balance and hubcentric rings.
