Hi.

I'm quite the noob when it comes to cars and am wanting to install an aux cord in my 380 as i'm sick of making cds. I'm not sure if there are already posts discussing this topic (please redirect me if so). Whats the best way to go about this? Any help would be great,

Cheers!!

I don't think anyone has made an aux input for the 380 as yet.

You can get an iPod adapter from the states however.

Otherwise your best option might be a new headunit.

Check this video, for the FM modulator. Option 2, before the alpine unit.
Aux in, closed loop.

Actually it works. Here is a diagram of connection.

To activate the AUX mode to: turn Off the stereo, to do this press the right handle. Then hold buttom the disc # 1 or # 6. Thus it is necessary to press the on of the right handle. At that, the screen will display the AUX.

The volume level is adjusted as usual, right handle.

There are alternative connections. Via the CD changer connector.

Thanks for the info stayer.
I had no luck with the 3 wired cable, inserting it into the CD changer plug as described. The radio, while in aux mode, did not output any sound.
Disappointing really, thought it would work.

Can anyone confirm that they have done this to a 380 radio?

I think we must look for different ways. It works on the 9g Galant. So it should work on 380.

Yeah I thought that too.
Plugged the appropriate wires into holes two and four and the ground into hole one.
No luck :(
Bah.
Time for an aftermarket head unit I think... Unless it's worth it to get one over from the states with the aux already built in? Like that fella on eBay sells?

Have you tried grounding the black wire to a metal part on car body to ground it and not in the harness?
Maybe worth a try.

Can you provide extra info on this o/seas unit, link maybe ?. I am a dope when it comes to these things but would like a AUX input for all the music on my phone.

Hey guys. I purchased a scosche fm modulator and have just tried to install it into my head unit. I wasnt too sure which cables to connect the power in with and went with the red and black cables that came from the bottom left corner plug in on the back of the head unit. When i turned the car back on it came up with an error signal on the screen. Ive now disconnected it and it works fine. I obviously connected the wrong cables together *Derp!*, does anyone know where i can get the correct power source from? Thanks!
