Has anyone put an ej20 in a magna? Whats the common engine swap into these? Or are we still just supercharging them?

Common swap is the 3.8 from the 380 and manual

People put sr20s and 2jzs in all sorts of shit and they get registered. Not sure why you think its 'wow' worthy.

Why would anybody bother with an EJ20. Unless you get one of the top spec versions they don't make anymore power than the 3.5L. Even with a top spec version a 3.8L makes about the same power and would have a lot more torque.

A 380 engine puts down 200kw to the wheels?

Oh I get what you're saying. I (obviously) mean swapping in an EJ20T, not a non turbo engine.

Yeh roughly about that with a tune

Well thats a lot more than I thought. Are there supercharger kits for the 380s?

Getting a EJ20 to run east west and fit in the engine bay is going to be a cast iron bitch.
Major work would be required fitting the thing in there in either direction, as there is no trans tunnel cutout in the firewall to mount it north south.

I was thinking that might be the case. How bout an evo engine?

Ive seen people put evo engines in their third gens, but I think theres work required redoing mounting points, not an easy job but much easier then an ej20 :)

Evo engine would be MUCH easier - the 4G69 and 4g63 share the same block architecture, so you have factory mounts to work with.
Not sure about the gearbox however.

No work required in moving mounting points. Use engine mounts from a 4g64 TE-TF magna on the evo block for OEM fitment.
