I'm ready to do a tranny flush and have read many posts in this forum about how to do so.
TW 2005 4sp Auto Wagon.
The workshop manual that I have downloaded only covers TH-TL series, so I was assuming TL series would be close enough for my purposes.
The location of the drain plug shown in the transmission flush procedure for TL series is at the side of the transmission. But I see a large bolt that looks like a drain plug on the underside of the transmission case which is mounted vertically.
Can anyone confirm the one in my photos is the correct one? Thanks.

That would be the drain plug, my KH is the same as that but a TF I have has it on the side of the box.
I thought the process to swap fluid was to actually do a flush using the outlet that goes to the trans cooler in the radiator? I might be wrong, but I've never heard of a drain hole in the auto trans.
Is your TW really a 4 speed auto? I thought the last 4 speed was in the early TJ models around 2000, but I don't know if wagons are different.

Thats called a power flush but you need to drain the fluid from the transmission and top it up with new ATF first

Yes, according to the manual, flush is done by disconnecting the cooler and emptying the system, but also opening the drain plug before putting in new fluid.
Definitely 4 speed unfortunately.

A power flush is when you plug a machine into the car to force the old fluid out and new in
A standard flush involves drain and fill then before you run the car you remove a cooler line and start pumping the old fluid out while puming fresh in
All the Magna's up to TW had the 4sp in the base ES and LS model FWD, was only the L and W VR, VRX and Verada which had the 5sp (AWD as well of course)
