Hi guys,
Purchased new globes for my VR-X and I'm on a bit of a sticky wicket fitting the high/low. I eventually managed to get the drivers side globe out, but I think I may have broken it. Based on what you can see in the following photos, have I broken it or is it progress as normal?

the globe separates from the rubber seal, if you fold the seal back a bit you ll see a clip, you need to flip back. the bulb sits in a bulb holder. remover the bulb from the holder and put the new one in.

put the bulb holder in the car in, flip the clip to tighten it, then put the rubber seal back on.

In the second photo, teh lug on the glode is protruding beyond the base bracket. I think you have to fix that first. The clip you have to undo is visible inside teh rubber boot inthe second photo as well.

it appears you have removed the whole base from the light, most likely you will have to remove the light and fix that problem as mentioned above the clip is under that rubber seal.
1: Remove rubber boot from the back of the light
2: Squeeze the electrical plug in at the sides
3: Push the clip in that is holding the globe in and push it slightly to one side and remove the bulb

Whatever else you do, DO NOT touch the bulb! Any oil you get on it will react with the glass and could cause the bulb to explode. I've seen an expensive Marchal Ampilux headlight destroyed, with the front glass blown out and holes punched through the metal reflector - all because the person who fitted the bulb (not me) didn't observe these precautions ...

If you do accidently touch the bulb it can be wiped over well with straight methylated spirits and a clean lint free cloth as well i always do them even if the bulbs are brand new in the box just incase
