Hi all,
All of a sudden over the past few days, my TH has been getting progressively harder to start :( usually, turn the key and it likes to roar to life instantly almost. Now... Not so much.
Once it's running, no worries what so ever, smooth as can be. Runs like a dream - if the bastard will start.
I'm now too scared to turn the damn thing off in fear of it maybe saying no.

Any ideas? A quick search of the forum potentially pointed to leads as a possible problem?

Cheers

fuel pump getting tired? plugs? battery? fuel filter?

Generally this will be a fuel issue, do a pressure test after the car has been run and let sit for a while. You may find that either the pressure reg or the non return valve on the fuel pump is not working and this will cause fuel to run back to the tank, when you hit the key you need to then pump up the fuel system as such before the fuel can be supplied to the motor. This generally takes a couple of seconds

Is it turning over more slowly than it used to? Could be the battery if that is the case.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Mal, that's along the lines i was thinking too. Fuel was drAining back to the tank away from the motor.. If that is to be the case, it will get worse, or will I be able to continue onwards for a bit? I'm on a trip at the moment, and would be nice to sort it when it gets home. Just a little disconcerting is all!

Not sluggish at all no, still plenty of power in the crank. I'm leaning towards a priming before start situation I think
