Hi guys, just a quick question....A TP Elite wagon...how much fuel do they hold? I just got the sending unit repaired and I'm just getting an idea of how accurate (for a magna anyways!) the gauge is. I don't know how this figure got in my head but I thought it was just under 60? It took 52litres to fill her up today and the expanded digital gauge said it still had 13 litres in the tank, but then I've read in here somewhere that they take 74 or so litres. I don't want to run the tank dry and risk stuffing up the pump, but if its 74 its probably a good thing, when the gauge says empty it should still have about 9 litres still in there, I'd rather the gauge under read a bit anyways. Cheers

do you have a digidash you lucky pup
this information is out of the TN/TP owners hand book
both had regular and digidash models
tank fittings are the same for both pump and sender so
it a fair guess the tanks for all sedans and all wagons were used
its 74 lts for a wagon and 64 lts for a sedan
being electric fuel pumps best not to go below 10 ltrs left in the tank
ready treads where when a tank runs dry the pump burns out
now do all magnas have the low fuel warning light in their dashes ..not sure
My TM..TN and 3 TP wagons all had low warning lights ...very sure digi dash do

Thanks for that...yep,digi dash in my wagon, and yep,it has a low fuel light...I had problems getting a decent used one so got this one rewound by an instrument guy. I put 52 or so litres I it yesterday and the gauge said it still had 13 litres left in the tank,so when it reads empty it should still have 9 litres left, that's good enough for me!
I'll go a bit further on a tank next time and see when the low fuel light comes on as well. By the way,the pump looks like its the original.....how long do they last? Should I be worried that its gonna die soon or do they go forever as long as you don't run them dry?
The next experiment is the injectors, its got a clean set of tan injectors in there now, will see what economy I'm getting out of them and then swap to a good set of blues and compare. The motor is a TR,not sure if that really makes much difference to the injectors. Cheers, thanks again!

i have a low km digidash just sitting here with senders all but the fuel sender
you may be the only known active member with one at this time
ok using the blues .. they have a better flow rate and you do get better economy
too much trouble rewiring for the tr ecu and fuel pump etc
blue injectors fitted will do nicely ..
remember to use rubber grease /vasaline on the rubber O rings
check carefully for any defects in the 0 rings before fitting
fuel pumps last a long time only give trouble if run dry
replace fuel filter at proper service intervals

Thanks again,if anyone gets stuck for a wagon digi dash fuel sender let me know, when it crapped out last time I got a sedan sender and fitted the winding/ element section into my wagon unit...it worked ok but not super accurate, better than nothing! It's here somewhere if anyone needs it.
I finally found an OK wagon sender at a wrecker, its OK,but the windings are a bit worn but it works, good for a spare..I got OTTO instruments in Brisbane to rewind another old worn out one for a wagon that i had,it works good and is in the car now. So I've got a spare if anyone needs them to get out of trouble....just gotta dig them out. Probably better to get one rewound and know its a good one I guess.
