Hi all, I have a 2001 Verada which we have had since 03 and need your help please. It has the factory radio/tape & separate but factory 4cd stacker under it. The cd player seems to be stuck on the second disc and totally jammed to the point where if you try pushing any buttons it hesitates for a few seconds and automatically reverts back to the radio. I have tried disconnecting the battery to re-set but still the same result. There is what looks like an E (error maybe?) displayed next to the disc number. First question I have Does anyone have any idea of what this means and is there an easy fix for it or is it stuffed. 2nd If it is stuffed how do I get my 4 cds out of the unit as it will not eject them. Is it safe to open the unit up and is it possible to get my cds out by doing this? Any help very much appreciated.
Thanks
Steve.

It's from 2001 and you ask "is it stuffed?" lol
Yep. Pull it out and dismantle and retrieve your CDs. Better units available these days, get one that can run MP3s off USB. A cheap 16 GB USB stick will make your 4 CD stacker look silly and irrelevant.

Thanks Max, lol yeah I know its old but has always worked well until today, just wondered whether anyone had encountered this error/fault before. Its it safe to pull the cd player apart? I heard that you have to be carful of the laser due to radioactive material, is this true?. I will be looking to put a new(modern) one in that has front ports for mp3 etc. I will have to go to the wreckers to buy a tray to fit under it as I will probably get a single din and it will leave a whole under it where the factory double was.
Thanks Steve

One day it works, next it doesn't. Such is life.
No radiation sources in the laser.
Single DIN pocket - get one from the wreckers.

You can likely buy a replacement stacker from someone who has upgraded their radio for very cheap.
