I have a choice between 2 mufflers
first is a Magna Flow (not sure about model no.) with 3 inch down pipe around $330 also got a 25% discount so around $250
the
second is a Redback STR 365 with 3inch down pipe around $240
the magna flow i got a quote from Dandy Exhaust and the second was from Mr.Muffler in dandenong both on Cheltenham rd.
Also wondering if these places are anygood or if anyone can get me a good deal
thanks

I was originally gonna get a lukey and not look at any other exhaust but i got persuaded by other factors such as build quality since they were taken over by walker. Not saying its crap or anything.
The magnaflow isnt all that much more than the Lukey and i hope its a good note as i might get it on Friday
so fingers crossed for Friday

Nothing Beats A MagnaFlow...
I've had heaps of them and I stand by their Quality and GROWL :D....
I got my supercat at ian diffins(Its a brand, theres different ones for sizing etc) . I went in there with my lukey. The guy pursuaded me to get my money back on the luckey and put the supercat on. I was very pleased, nothing against luckey just everyones got one and no one has really looked anywhere else.

They are owned by tenneco which also owns Munroe. My brother works there (right next to the
mitsubishi factory).
Ive got a Redback.. sounds great.. Choonga/Art and a few others have heard it..
Has a very deep rumble.

$240 for a redback muffler with tip is a bit pricey?

go to Daalders Exhuasts in Box Hill, they do great work. i was actually there today to get an exhuast rattle fixed, and they did it for free, cos they got me confused with Bain (dunno how they did that, cos our cars arent even the same colour....... oh maybe cos we're both black?)

I got a second hand VRX muffler (only a few months old) on my TE and replaced the res with a bit of pipe.. also a new bit 2.5" back from the second flange to the last one over the suspension. Had to cut the rear bumper out a little to fit but it looks neat. It sounds okay to everyone whose opinion I've asked (others may think differently :)), though I think it's a little too farty.. heh. The main thing - which at first I thought was just placebo what with the loud noise and all but it just hammers now it has so much more pickup say 20 - 80 km/h and even higher up 130 - 140.. it still goes.

I opted for the Magnaflow with the 3.5" down pipe.

are all magnaflow mufflers straight through?
TF_ADVAN
04-10-2004, 10:02 PM
Yeah they definately are straight through (Well mine is dunno about the other ones they have but i guess they prob are all straight through).
Its straight through at a slight angle so, not like a cannon completely straight, but at a slight angle.
If that makes any sense.
