Just upgraded my high beams with some nice 100W globes.
I grabbed a 20A fuse, 30A relay and some 10A wiring.
What I forgot to grab was some 8mm spade connectors for the headlamp spades.
What I have been forced to do is use about 50mm of the factory wiring coming out of the original headlamp plug, since the shops were closed and I had already started cutting up the wiring before I realised my mistake.
Once the job was complete, I tested out my high beams for about 5-10 mins. In that time the little bit of factory wiring got warm, but not worryingly so.
I have a 30A fuse holder (20A fuse) with associated heavy wiring feeding a 30A 5 pin relay that feeds the two 100W headlamps via 10A wiring.
Question is this - Can I get away with using my high beams for an hour and a half on the run into work for a few days?
Shops are shut tomorrow so its going to be a few days to a week before I can fix the situation.
