I've found a Nardi steering wheel and gear knob on a wrecked vehicle. I'm going to make the owner an offer for it. My first question is will a standard 98 Ei airbag from a regular wheel fit the Nardi or are they different?
And whats the procedure to remove both. I'd like to be in and out with the least amount of inconvenience possible. I've never removed a wheel with an airbag or cruise control fitted before

No a std airbag wont fit must be a nardi style airbag. very easy to remove both items about 5 mins with the correct tools.

Could you please elaborate? I've not removed one before and i'd like to reduce inconvenience as much as possible. What do I need to do?

No the airbags are a different shape on the Nardi steering wheels. You should be able to swap them over, but you'll have to swap the airbags as well.
Regarding fitting, you'll need to disconnect the battery. Then there's a series of bolts, and then some wiring needs to be unclipped (airbag connector and horn). If you have a cruise control stalk this will need to be disconnected and removed as well. Once that's all done, the wheel is on pretty tight so you'll need to be forceful to remove it, but also very careful not to break anything or hurt yourself. There are special steering wheel pulling tools you can buy that make this part a little easier.
Personally, if you're not confident with doing it yourself, get a mechanic or electrician to do it for you.
I'm pretty sure there's a how-to somewhere on the forum as well.

disconnect the battery then to remove the airbag you need a specific torque bit t30 I think it is there is a bolt on either side of the airbag once undone pull it forward disconnect the wires then the steering wheel is held on by a 17mm nut undo it til its almost off then wiggle the wheel til it comes loose take off the nut and the wheel and your done , the shifter knob you need to lever out the button on the top with small flat screw driver on either side of the knob once that's out you will see the nut that holds the gearknob remove it and the knob comes off.

With the nut on the shifter, you will need a long socket to get it off as from memory either the thread or the lever for the button goes through the centre

Are these the same for the nardi and standard? if so i'll have a look at mine first so I know what socket to get
I'd like to get all the tools I need together, so I don't end up going over, doing half the job and having to leave because i'm unable to remove something. As much detail as possible is appreciated
edit: another thing, does the woodgrain in Verada's vary in colour at all? It looked like the Nardi was significantly lighter in colour than some i've seen online. Additionally the center console wood grain looked darker than mine so not sure if thats because of the light or if they actually do vary
