Okay, important info. 2000 KH Verada.

Basically as the title says, my AC doesnt work.
When I got the car I just assumed it was out of gas, however, I can't get the compressor to engage.

I have checked all the fuses and relays that seem to be related to the operation of the AC or the condenser fan. No joy.

Will the compressor engage if there is no pressure in the system, or should I start looking at the climate control?

I dont want to take the car to a AC place until I know that it is going to work - I'm not paying someone to fault find when I can do that myself much cheaper.

If there is not enough pressure in the system the compressor won't engage. My bet is that you're out of gas, or don't have enough gas to properly pressurise the system

It has a HIGH/LOW pressure switch in the system. Stops the compressor from engaging to prevent damage to it.

Okay, thanks guys.

Given it has been empty for over 12 months, I assume that I need to replace a few things. What bits am I going to need to replace?
I don't know much about AC and don't want the wool pulled over my eyes. I haven't ever had anything other than a regas before... (not in this car either)

New receiver/dryer, vacuum out, part fill with gas + dye, check for leaks, repair leaks, fill with gas, test, pay, off you go.

No sheep will be harmed in the process, but your wallet will be lighter. lol.
