Hi guys

Today I have got the accumulator replaced, but found the Computer started not to work properly. It shows flashing number '5' (see https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1lWPyznhx61sQqUu7wc_MKjXVJgbuQp_9p2ppWzp3Jcs ). Clicking on the mode does not help. I have not go anywhere yet. Could you advice?

Thanks

accumulator = battery, yes?

"5" = "S", = sedan. Short press of display button alternates between S and W (=wagon). Long press on the right one.
Then choose "3.0" or "3.5" and the display will go back to normal.

Nice Max, and welcome to the forum vladnech..
I bet that's a relief finding out that flashing 5 is completely normal.
The clock can also be set by using the up/down buttons of the trip computer, while the key is in Accs....

Thanks guys. I pressed longer for Mode button and Computer started to work!!!

But I found another issue - Radio is asking for a CODE. Is it something like a PIN CODE for the radio? The main problem is that I don't know it  - I bought this car as second hand and forgot to ask for a code :(
Is there any way to find this code or reset it?

and then there is the radio . . . .

Sometimes, I told you so, just isn't enough....

There's ways to get the code using the VIN and being present at a Mitsubishi dealer, to verify ownership, honestly I dont know why they bother doig this with such a crappy radio.. But it appears they have started charging for this...
An experienced or customer orientated mechanic should have dealt with this, there are way to continue to power a vehicle while working on it. Even a warning just so you are prepared...

If you'd care to write a private message to one of the forum admins Madmagna, and request his he may be able to help in someway.. How much, I don't know? Asking nicely is always a great start to a conversation, as we all know :)

Thanks, Shoot. Can I still drive a car without the entering of the code?

Ho Hum
We all get caught out the first time we change the battery . . . . trip-o-meter, clock, radio.

It is a 4 digit number, take the VIN to a Mitsu dealer and they will look it up. May be free, may be not.

Historical note: In the far distant past, these radios were worth lots of money, after all, it had a CD player! Hence people used to break into your car to steal them, hence the need for the code and a flashing light on some. An aftermarket replacement is available for $60 and up, but a dealer still wants the original price for them. True story!

One word of advice, if drive around with the windows up, nod your head to a beat in in your head, drum your fingers on the steering wheel, and, perhaps, you might even move your lips like you are singing a song...
No-one will ever know the radio is not working......;)

Thanks, guys. Looks like other stuff is working. I will have a service in February - probably will ask to reset radio code.
