I was poking around my engine bay (trying to work out another issue) when I noticed that something I later found out is called a CANISTERFUEL VAPOR - Part No. MR161732 has a hose attachment that is missing a hose. To me it looks like there should be a hose attached.
Is this normal?
Should I be concerned, (as in) will this cause issues?
If there is suppose to be a hose, where does it connect to at the other end?
Please look at my pics. Any advice would be appreciated.

For the record my vehicle is a;
2002 Mitsubishi Magna TJII Sports Sedan 5 speed auto.

Hi Kaldek,
I hope you are right, thanks for having a look and taking the time to reply.
It's weird Mitsubishi would have a connection like that that looks like it needs hose attached....weird.
This is my first Mitsubishi so I'm not sure what is normal. Still learning.

I asked the same question on here a few months back and a few people replied saying that's normal

My KL looks the same also. I don't understand why it is not used, but hey - four of us here don't have anything attached to it so there's a pretty good chance it's OK! :)

Make that five. No pipe goes there and I'm fairly sure it's blocked off anyway.

b1benno and Ensoniq5, thanks, I'd say it is official, it's normal, but I agree, why have it there if it isn't used or is blocked off. Weird. :nuts:

Older models had a hose dropping down to the ground but was not needed so was left as it is there

That explains it. So it basically a redundant fixture, like Penguin wings <(")
Thanks Madmagna
