Ok so from the other thread, I've come to the conclusion that the solenoids or the trans itself is at fault. Now it's a tj series2 3.5 with the 4 speed tiptronic. My question is can I just put any 4 speed in or does it need to be from a tiptronic?

It doesn't have an oil filter on top, so if I just get a trans out of a 3.0 tf or something like that, would it work without any mods?

I have to get this done by next Tuesday so any advice would be appreciated.

I've taken plenty of magna engines out, but I haven't taken any magna transmissions out. Are there any tricks or easy ways to do it or advice? Cheers

any 4 speed will do. tiptronic shifting is controlled via ECU, not the slushbox itself.

From what I understand you cannot use the TL/TW transmission.
You can use any 4 speed other than that, but the 3.0L has different final drive ratio to the 3.5L

a lot of dodgy stuff had been done to this magna before we got it. The trans was never perfect so how do i make sure it is a 4 speed. Also, does it matter if i get one with or without an external filter?

mine has no filter.

cheers!

Make no difference if it has a external filter or not
