Okay, can those of you who had whatever headers post power figures and preferably dyno charts to compare torque delivery before and after fitment? I'm particularily keen to compare RPW's street ones to Pacemakers. This is for 6G72-S4 and 6G74 engines.

I will be having my car dynoed next wednesday now that my pacemakers have settled in so I will report my findings. I have a stock dyno however my next dyno will included both the K&N CAI induction and Pacemakers.
Search a post by AKKO when he had his pacemakers installed. He picked up 8kw at the wheels.

Yes, I'm aware of you two. I just wanted a thread where everyone who has done dyno runs can post their findings.

I just got my insurance company to rubber stamp approval for me to get some ceramic coated RPW street headers fitted. Yay. Frustratingly David is out of stock, but if you can wait a couple weeks I'll have some numbers on those babies. It'll be interesting to see if the ceramic coating is worth the extra dough.
I'm going to pick up a high-flow t/b at the same time but will try to do three dyno runs, before, after headers, then after headers + t/b.
(RPW haters, please don't flame me about the price difference over pacemakers :) )
I never got mine on a dyno after i got my pacemakers. I would imagine though there would be about a 5-10 kw gain. Nothing huge, noticable for the first few weeks then its back to wanting more power. Just out of interest i haven't mentioned the headers to my insurance company, would it be a good idea for me to have them covered so they don't void me from claiming insurance in case of an accident.

redav, i have wildcats and about 1 yr ago i had a dyno of 170hp atw with other mods, i since added full cai that has added at least 5 hp, lukey muffler again at least 5hp, and running 95 ron PULP again gives at least 5hp, so i reckon i can assume around 190hp. but i will get a dyno soon hopefuly and let u know definitely. but these extractors are 1 5/8" primaries so really meant to go with more mods like cam and headwork.

For what it's worth - the RPW extractors are 1 5/8" primaries too. The pacemakers are smaller at 1 1/2".. I wonder how much of a difference 1/8" makes? :) It doesn't sound like much but it makes the area of a circle as a cross-section of the pipes 2.07 square inches vs 1.76 square inches..
Altera98, what other mods did you have to get 170hp (ATW, right?)? Are the wildcat headers a shorty style design?

at the time it only had greddy e-manage, rpw oversize throttlebody, K&N pod and FSE feul pressure regulator. but honesly it is sooo much better now with the extras.
sorry forgot to mention they are a very long primary design.

What does the K&N CAI kit include/involve?
I think it it relocates the filter and some piping?
Is that with a Panel, pod or either?
(RPW haters, please don't flame me about the price difference over pacemakers :) )
I'm in the process of decided if i want to get the RPW headers or go with the Pacers

Hard to say. I thought he suffered a bit of a loss of torque low-mid range. I reckon that the larger size is better for the 3.5 over the 3.0. Altera, are you able to post that dyno grap again? The thing is that the size of the primaries should match the size of the ports and if the 3.0 and 3.5 are different sizes, (which is what MMAL says), then if they're designed for the 3.5, then they're not idea for the 3.0.

Hey, I thought we worked out that you had the more recent higher flow throttle body, not the oversized.
Look forward to a new dyno.
I'd like to know where Wildcat ones come from. I know where Hurricane ones come from.

you are right redav, my t/b is the original bored out to 65mm. I cant post up the old dyno bec im at work and no scanner here, but it shows the normal hollowness of the curve the magnas have especially the 3.0's have below 3000rpm is even more apparent. but then on the road it does pull smoothly all the way to the revlimiter at 6800rpm after that.
for a manual it wouldnt matter, but for an auto 3.0 unless u are going to upgrade cam, id use the pacemakers instead.
anyway i might be going with blake for a dyno next week if i can get the time off, and maybe he can then post it for me.
btw the wildcats are made in QLD
btw the K&N cai relocates the maf and oval pod into the front bumper bar on the left side. good chance of crunching them in a crash or hydraulic locking your motor if u crossed a creek or floodway  (didnt stop me setting mine up that way tho)

Greetings All.
So you guys think pacemakers would be well suited to a 3.0L auto??
Or another brand??
Cheers,

It depends on what your willing to pay.
RPW are more expensive but are designed better. Pacemakers sit lower and have smaller pipes but are alot cheaper. For the extra 1-2kw you'd get from an RPW unit over the pacemakers the price doesnt jutisfy.
I have pacemakers on 3.0 auto but my car is sitting stupidly low and I've destroyed them and blew 2 gaskets. but if your on lows or even superlows there should be no problem.
Pacemakers get my vote.

Trav when are you going down for the dyno? Let me know i'll come with you as I want a dyno after my pacemakers and induction.
Could be a reasonably good comparison run between rpw and pacemaker.

when would you be going? i want to replace my plugs with iridiums and get a dyno, would be good to see 3 cars with various mods to compare on same dyno on same day all in the name of science.

how much would pacemakers cost installed, and would i need a new exhaust to? i got a 99 th if it makes any difference

Well if your in WA quickfit in morely will install them for $60.
You won't need to change your exhaust but swapping your rear muffler for a higher flowing item isn't a bad idea.

Hi all,
had TH 3.5l dyno'd in July after doing a few mods - at Speedworks in Osborne Park (WA) on their dynopak machine.
peak HP - 198.7 @ 5000 rpm
peak Torque - 290.4 Nms @ 4250 rpm
Then fitted RPW street extractors, changed to 98RON, and fitted CAI tube (already had the pod filter). Dyno'd again at Speedworks earlier this month.
peak HP - 201.8 @5000rpm
peak torque - 311.2 Nms @ 4100 rpm
So, extractors etc added a small gain in HP (curve is symmetrical to previous curve, just shifted higher up the scale. But, the torque has increased substantially across all rpm as well. Very nice to drive!! :bouncin: :bouncin:
