I was wondering if any of you have any info on cropped tail lights?

I have a '99 TH, and I think this mod would look awesome

I dont see why you couldn't just paint over that part with colour to match (looking at picture this is exactly what was done). Give it a sand and paint will stick just like on any other plastic. Indicators is an issue thought.

You would have to do a similar thing that the diamante has done and add them into the bumper. How ever, this would be technically illegal without an engineers

No it wouldn't, at least it'd be a very debatable grey area.
You can move the indicators if you want/need, So long as you still adhere to the applicable ADR's listed on the compliance plate. (should be 3rd edition ADR's from memory without looking it up.)
For the indicators, there will be a minimum height off the road required as well as a requirement for them to be seen clearly from 45 degrees inwards from the centre axis to 80 degrees outwards from the centre axis when looking at the rear of the car.
There will also be a minimum luminosity requirement tested a several points, most decent high intensity LEDs will easily pass this
Not sure on the actual work involved but my first suggestion would be looking at the feasibility of trimming the lower edge of the tail light and adding the indicator as a thin LED strip light.
Maybe even trim the top edge of the bumper where it meets the body under the tail light and fit the strip light there.
So long as it didnt look like some dodgy backyardie job done by a blind chinese man, i doubt very much you would get questioned on it.

Thanks for the info guys. :)
I was thinking of incorporating them into the rear bumper, similar to how the KJ's have them in the front. I seriously think I will look into this mod further, i'll buy a new set of lights to do this on for starters, and see how it comes up.
Thanks again! :)

Simons old magna had this done, he put the indicator in the reverse light section but got defected for not having reverse lights. Can't win

Yeah I'm thinking I'll get a vrx rear bumper modified, so I can put in and wire up two indicators on the rear, and another two on the sides (same as the Diamante above). may as well get it done the same time as I'm getting another groove cut for the second exhaust tip.
Is there any pictures floating around of Simon's car?

Also just realizing, to get the lights more accurate, I'd need a boot lid from a (correct me if I'm wrong) KJ verada. Would this be a direct swap to a 99' TH? If not, what would be involved?

You will need a ke-kh boot lid. The kj has the reverse lights in the middle and won't work with those tail lights. I can't search for pictures of Simons on my phone, but he was on here as slammed6 and it was burnt orange
