Well we have finally given up on trying to keep out TR magna on the road. After many many new parts we finally had it running great and now the automatic transmission has given up. It wont go into any gear once the transmission warms up. Too costly to fix :(
Can anyone tell me the best place to try and sell it please. I really would hate to see it go to a metal recycling plant with so many new bits in the last 12 months. I cant advertise here because I havent made enough posts and it is too old a vehicle to get any interest on gumtree.
We are located in Brisbane
Thanks for all your help in the past :)

Have you considered a 2nd hand gearbox? They'd be dirt cheap for a TR.
Unfortunately if the car isn't running, your best bet is to wreck it, or sell it as a whole to be wrecked.

Just got to a point where we cant put any more money into it. Perfect car for wrecking if anyone is interested...definitely a few bucks to made from it with everything we have spent on it. Just spent $200 only 2 weeks ago on 2 new tryes. We dont have the space to do it ourselves. :(

no chance at all selling it in brissy with a busted tranny
can only sell it as a parts car ..this will take time
better ask first is this a V6 or 4 cyl
offer to help
i get to brissy twice a month ..could look at it
what sort of no space do you have .. no quiet street nearby ?
depending on where you are there maybe someones yard or street we could tow it to
i have the tools / crane and experience to fit a s/h torque converter
just need person power and fuel money for me . take two days max.. with help

It is a 4cyl magna buff. I appreciate the offer of help but we have already replaced it with another vehicle and now just want it gone...spent too much money on it now and really got turned off finding out some parts we wanted to replace new are no longer made either by mitsubishi or aftermarket. There are very few carby models around even at the wreckers that we can get parts from either. Its hit 20yrs old and I hate to part with it but our money tree has shrivelled and died. :(

Magna buff has good point. Its a hard sell to move it as is. And wrecking takes a while and is messy.
Damn nice offer though!....
Hopefully you get an offer.
It might help to post the odd pic of inside, might help finding a buyer for parts they need..
Get it on GumTree for sure...No harm in trying !

I have had it listed on gumtree since we first decided to get rid of it. No response at all. Looks like the metal recyclers will get it for $300. Sad ending but it has to go somewhere. 2 new tyres just cost us $200 a few weeks before this happened. :(

I think you are better of finding a second hand trans and fitting it to the car and then selling it. I assume it still has rego.? If you sell it broken its worth its weight in scrap metal which is about $100-150. If you put a trans in for a few hundred could be worth $1000-2000. These are just a rough guide but car is worth 10x over running then not.

Well we have managed to get rid of the car now. Got $300 for it from scrap metal place. Add the extra $300 we got back from the rego and we cant really complain. Sad to see it go because I have enjoyed driving it for the last 10 years. Thanks for everyones advice and listening to me rave on. Yes I am a sentimental old fool LOL :)
