Based on your user name, im going to suggest it is about as simple as swapping a 253 for a 308.
IIRC you can use the 3.0 ECU but will need to run 95/98 RON fuel as the 3.0 has more timing in the mid range.
Haven't done it personally, just regurgitating info I have picked up on the forum.
Something in the back of my mind is saying something about the clutch being different - but I think that is the VRX being a pull and the rest being push type. Someone else should jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

No need to use 95 fuel, I have a lot of customers using a 3.5 in TF series cars and they run fine
As is a manual box has to come out with motor, change over the box to the new motor, use the upper manifold and injector wiring harness from old motor on the new one, use the 3.5 engine pipe, upper alt and ps brackets and you are good to go

I have a TF 3litre and a Verada 3.5, the Verada has like vacuum hoses going to the injectors and the 3 litre doesn't, just wondering what do the vacuum hoses do? and the 3 litre looks like its sitting slightly lower in the engine bay, maybe its my eye sight. Cheers
