My ride is being attended to by my local mitsubishi dealer since they buggered up the belt while attempting to change a CV boot. So i get the job done for free which isn't to shabby and im paying for a major service while im there...
For the V6 motors i think your looking at around 600 but for the 2.4 4cyl its only around 365.
There are two sets of belts, your powersteering and aircoditioning and your timing belt.

I just replaced the Timing and Oil pump belts on my TE 4cyl... $100 for the Timing belt, $45 for the Oil pump one... (non genuine of course)
So where the heck you guys spending $365?
Is that including Labour or something?
Ill sell you the belts for the 4cyl if you like plus postage.

is it recommended that the timing belt be changed at 90k or 100k? is there anyway to check if the belt is new? i heard abt using belt tensioners or something... but i asked mitsu and they don't provide that service

They need to be changed at 100,000
IF you want to check that its new, tell them to keep your original belt. and you can allways remove the timing cover to inspect it.
