Hey Guys,

Finally got the 380 running perfectly (special thanks to mitsfix!) and 2 days later the in dash fan began making noise, damn!

What do I need to do to replace it? Is it the same as a magna under the glove box?
Can you still get these new from Mits or would I have to go 2nd hand?

I've managed to drown it out with the stereo so far, as I usually only have it on 1 or 2 bars, however really hot days it can get very noisy when cranked.

Have any of the other 380 owners had it go noisy?

Could be a stray leaf in the motor area, these usually dont give issues on these cars

Hmmm could be, is there a way I can blow it out without removing the unit? Or how hard is the unit to remove?

could very well be leafs in it, im removing my heater core and pulled out the fan blower and there was a heap of plant material in it. should be quiet now, it was never noisy but was making some non normal sound.
not sure how hard it is to remove 380 units. perhaps pull off the leaf guards below your windscreen and stick a vac hose down it?

Well hopped into the car yesterday and the noise is gone!

Must have been something stuck in there.

Did bits of dried leaves get blown out too?
One old cure was to turn the heater up high, and the fan on high. Leaf dries out, gets chopped up, and bits fly out. Noise gone. lol

Hmmm now that you mention it, I did put the heater on the day before, before that it was always cool air, that might have done it!

Will have to remember that one.

Only issue with that is the fan is the first part of the system, then the air con and then the heater, no matter how hot the heater is set the fan gets cold air

i had the same problem - under the glove box area you will see a round plastic cover - if you remove that there is direct access to the blower. I removed a leaf caught in the blower and the noise has gone away. Took less than 10 minutes and is easy - from memory only 3 screws. Thank you Mitsubishi for making it easy to get to the blower! I was fearful it required dash removal.
