I'm in the process of trying to replace the throttle cable on my TJ AWD. Got the old one out OK and in my attempts to insert the end of the cable I was turning the throttle forward. I haven't been able to get the cable inserted and now the throttle is locked in the closed position. What's caused this or what have I done wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Paul

Hard to say, best advice would be to remove the air inlet hose so you can see the throttle valve and see if you can work out what's jamming. Reattaching the throttle cable is a bit of a fiddle but once you've freed the throttle valve you should be able to find a position where the cable lug will fit past the linkage. Then hold the throttle fully open and pop the lug sideways into the hole on the linkage, rotating the lug so the cable slides through the cutout in the hole. You'll need as much slack on the cable as possible, make sure the sheath is detached from the mounts on the plenum chamber.
